  • summary: The Rutgers University Center for Ocean Observing Leadership runs a daily real-time version of the Weather Research and Forecasting model, also known as RUWRF. This model runs a parent nest at 9km resolution out to 120 hours and a child nest at 3km resolution out to 48 hours. It is run daily following the availability of the 00Z cycle of the Global Forecast System (GFS), and utilizes the Coldest Pixel SST composite as the ocean surface boundary condition in its standard real-time processing. This case study excludes the coldest pixel SST composite and uses only GFS.
