  • summary: The Rutgers University Center for Ocean Observing Leadership ran a daily real-time version of the Weather Research and Forecasting model (RUWRF) through March 2023. This model ran a parent nest at 9km resolution out to 120 hours and a child nest at 3km resolution out to 48 hours. It ran daily following the availability of the 00Z cycle of the Global Forecast System (GFS), and utilized the cold-water-preserving SST composite as the ocean surface boundary condition. The 1km simulation is a test case run separately from the real-time nested model.
