- summary: Forecast meteorology data from the NCEP North American Mesoscale (NAM) model 12 km CONUS grid in ROMS forcing file format. Data were downloaded from the NCEP NOMADS operational server https://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/ rolling archive of the last 8 days of forecast cycles. The data assembled here are accessed in grib format from the catalog at https://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/nam/prod/ and subsetted and interpolated to a rectangular (i.e. vector lon/lat coordinates) grid. Wind components in the Lambert conformal NAM grid projection are rotated correctly to east-north coordinates. BEST TIMES SERIES is an aggregation of the 3-hourly forecasts from the first day of all preceding cycles plus the latest forecast out to 3.5 days from analysis.
