Description:

  • rights: Freely available
  • summary: Biogeochemistry/Physics coupled ROMS DOPPIO simulation prototype version 013 1-day averages and diagnostics.
  • Physics Configuration: Approximately 7 km resolution and 40 levels. Initial and boundary conditions are from global 1/12 Mercator-Ocean. Surface forcings are from NCEP North American Regional Reanalysis (NARR) through 2013, then NAM for 2014 onward. River discharges are from USGS and Water Survey of Canada (WSC). Harmonic tides along the open boundaries are from OSU Tidal Prediction Software (OTPS). Sea surface datum is NAVD88. NARR shortwave radiation has been adjusted to a diurnal cycle (DIURNAL_SRFLUX). Atmospheric pressure correction (ATM_PRESS) has been applied for a dynamic inverted barometer response. Wind speed relative to surface current (WIND_MINUS_CURRENT) was applied in air-sea bulk formulae for fluxes (COARE3.0).
  • Biogeochemistry (BGC): Fennel nitrogen and carbon cycle with USECOS modifications to add dissolved organic matter. The model set-up is described in Chapter 6 of López, A. G., (2020), Modeling the circulation and timescales of the Mid-Atlantic Bight and Gulf of Maine, PhD thesis, Rutgers University, https://doi.org/doi:10.7282/t3-d1e6-jz61
